Default Stuck Parking Brake

I've only had my car for nine months and this is a new one on me. Had the car out today, pulled the parking brake up to take it off. The handle came up to the stop and the parking brake is stuck on. I haven't opened the shop manuals yet, but any suggestions? Many thanks ahead of time.

This may or may not work but I have released a similar situation by actually pulling the handle up a notch higher then by squeezing the handle release it released and came all the way down. It does seem tricky at times. Caution: Do not force it if this doesn't work.

I just got out the manual. Nothing obvious. The handle goes all the way to the top. We'll see. Thanks.

This has happened to me sometimes. I just push the button while pulling the handle up just a notch higher than it was and letting it down again. Sometimes I have to do this one or two times, but it has always worked.

I got it. Many thanks guys. The handle was nearly straight up, but it's off now. Weird. I feel a little stupid, but .... oh well. Cheers...

Is the parking brake easy to pull? The pull on "The Beast" feels like it is binding on something. I never feel like it is going to release completely when disengaging the brake. Any easy adjustments?
