C7 ZR1
This made me go hmmmmm.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWcZH8cbGnw I understand it's pushing more air but it's 755HP. C4 needs 550HP to hit same speed that is over 200HP difference thats no chump change. My big inch C4 ZR-1's ran 160 MPH making 570-575 RWHP so lets say thats 700 CHP. Don't get me wrong i love the C7 ZR1. When i grow up i'm buying one There is a few C7 ZR1's half mile videos on youtube DragTimes has one also. Pete

Re: C7 ZR1
Pete,
Just look at the frontal area between the C4 and C7 ZRs. The C7 needs to expose those heat exchangers to make the power. In fairness, the C7 is built to go around curves and accelerate as quickly as possible, not top end. It would certainly blow our cars completely off the track.

Re: C7 ZR1
Man that silver Porsche , damm...Even with all that carbon built up in his motor..I'm guessing that was the smoke I saw..
No mistaken the aerodynamics of the C4..I'm hearing also the rear wing really hinders top speed somewhat.. Nice car that C7 ZR-1...Can be modded to 1,000 HP for not much money....Than again the cost of the car is no joke... |

Re: C7 ZR1
1/2 Mile and especially full 1 Mile is all about HP, frontal area and drag coefficient. C4s have a serious leg up on C7 Z06 and especially C7 ZR1 with high wing in both the frontal area and drag coefficient. I'm really hoping we get another 1/2 Mile event organized in Texas as I'd love to put the 391 up against a stock C7 ZR1 and see their surprise when I run the same (or faster speed). I did 152MPH in Arkansas right after getting the car back from Pete last year, and now that we've got the final tuning done, I think we might pick up a few more MPH.

Re: C7 ZR1
Evan,
We know that Pete was outrunning the C6ZRs several years ago at 154mph. And that was when his motors was still a stock short block.
