Default ZR-1 Delivery locations

Where was your ZR-1 originally delivered?

I got bored this evening and was looking at my build sheet again
and noticed my car was "charged" to Los Angeles Branch PO BOX in Thousand Oaks, however it was "delivered" to 13303 S. Ellsworth Mesa AZ. Curious what dealer was there in AZ, I looked it up and apparently this was the GM Test Track. Was this normal for West Coast ZR-1s?

VERY COOL! Your car was delivered to the GM Arizona proving grounds. Not "normal", must have been delivered there for some specific purpose. Maybe a GM employee in Arizona was the original owner and he wanted to wring it out???

More than likely it may have been a part of the fleet of vehicles in Mesa. My '95 was there as part of the executive fleet vehicles. By that time, there was no more testing being done. So, GM put about 10,000 miles on the car and it was sold at auction and went into a private collection.

This is interesting! I was also confused why the Carfax report on my car said it was sold at auction with 11,000 miles on it in 1/12/1994 when it was an early build 1993. JThomas how did you find the backstory on yours?

Does this mean some GM guys were playing around with my car in Mesa for a year?

My '95 was delivered to Connell Chevrolet in Costa Mesa, CA. I bought it from the second owner in 2012 who lived in Laguna Beach CA. The '93 was delivered in the Baltimore MD area but I can't remember the dealer. I bought it from the original owner there in 1994. --Bob

If I remember the sequence, my car was delivered to Mesa as an executive members vehicle, part of the fleet of cars there. The paperwork I received when I purchased the car showed that in 1996 it was sold/auctioned with 10,XXX miles. It supposedly went into a private collection in California, then went into a collection in Wisconsin. In February of 2010 it was auctioned at Barret-Jackson in Scottsdale in conjunction with a 2010 ZR1. I bought it from the guy who won the car at the BJ auction. He really wanted the C6 ZR1 and the '95 was part of the deal. When I bought the car in November of 2011 it had 12,XXX miles and a California title showing that it was first titled in 2010 after the Bj auction. So from 1996-2010 less than 2,000 miles had been put on the car.

The previous owner was very good to deal with, and it even came with the original tires. Funny thing is my '95 was Bright Aqua/Gray interior.

Cool Story! What are the odds that two Bright Aqua/Gray interior cars shared the same unusual beginnings? I think mine was the first 405hp BAM to roll out.. I wonder if yours was one of the last?

Have no idea where mine was delivered..However I heard stories of some people who paid upwards of 100K when this first came out.....Don't know how true that is....Would like to see the looks on there faces when values totally tanked on this car and they sold....

Seen a few low mileage C6ZR1's selling for in the 60's by original owner, stickered at $ 121,000..50% loss on that one....

People were in fact paying over $100K for the car when it first came out. Then once everything settled down some prices for 91s were below MSRP by as much as $10,000.

My 90 ZR-1 #2066 was delivered to Corvette Central Office Warren Mich. no date given. It was sold new in Orlando Fla. on 6/12/90. Paperwork shows 1st owner traded in a 70 Corvette and got $22,000, and paid an additional $56,000 for the ZR-1.
I have a sheet of paperwork that shows 4/19/90 build date, #16 that day, 4/20/90 tested, @12:44 pm, Dyno 362hp@ 6430 rpm [2 dynos], 295 ft-lb torque. I don't know for sure where this test was done or by who? I hope and assume it was done at the factory.
