410 gears speedometer difference?
Hi everyone
My brains should be up to this but I can't seem to figure it out. What's the percentage difference on the speedo if I have 4.10 gears instead of stock? Just got her registered - she's all mine! Got a break in the weather too - first cruise this evening BUT don't know what speed I'm doing and don't want my first trip to end up with a run in with the boys in blue. Dave

Sounds like you need to get some speedo correction gears or the BOX...SOON!!! Hope you have a good radar detector too! Do you really think knowing your speed will keep you "goin slow"? It won't! Let 'er rip!
This website will help you with your speed calculation...http://pw1.netcom.com/~sgalaba/mph.htm

I tried the link but it didn't seem to give any results when I clicked - maybe I'm just missing it. I figure it must be around -15% with the 4.10s It won't kep me going slow, but it might at least stop me from doing it right under their noses p.s. radar detectors are illegal in Ontario. Seems kind of dumb to ban a device that warns you to keep your speed down.

Doing the math, at an indicated 60mph on the speedo, you'd actually be going 50.5 mph. To actually go 60mph, you'd want to see 71mph on the speedo.

So I wasn't too far out with 15%. Thanks guys, you really are the best.
Just got back from my first cruise, still very much in 'familiarisation mode' but damn, I'm definitely grinning!!! Looks like the weather is set to be good all weekend too! Whooohoooo!
