Painting Biz's "ZR-1" plate
Well I've had the "ZR-1" front filler plate for almost a year now. And at first I kind of liked having it all red, and the ZR-1 part being sort of subtle. But I kept wondering what it would look like with the lettering painted black.
So I decided to try something nonpermanent to give me an idea of what it would look like. I bought a can of Dupli-Color Shield temporary spray-on bra. It's like paint that is water soluble. It's intended to be like a bug shield or something that you can wash off. I masked off the front of the car and taped off a box right around the lettering. Then I sprayed the plate. Then removed the masking, and gently wiped the face of the plate down with a damp soft rag. The removed all the Shield that was on the face of the plate, while leaving the paint in the lettering behind. So far I like the look, but I can check it out outside and over a few days without having to commit with paint. Here's the plate back when I got it last May: And after applying the Shield product:

Mine's just the opposite- red with black lettering. Definite bug magnet. |

Don't know if he has some extras, still makes them, or if anyone bought extras that they'd sell.
