Default 91 # 1379

Hi Guys, Been searching for my next ZR-1.... Found this on CG. 20k miles $22,5., which is a bit out of my reach....hoping they will barter a little. This is in Naperville Illinois so if I get closer to a purchase, maybe someone might go check it out for me?? Heres a couple links to a cold start up and a short drive. Im a bit concerned with how long it takes to start. Any ideas on that? Anyone know any kind of history on this particular car?
Thanks!

$22,500 is low for this mileage assuming the car is in good shape.

The start is completely normal for the LT-5. Keep cranking until the engine fully starts. If you stop before it starts, you'll trap fuel in the cylinders and the next time you try, since the LT-5 employs a batch fire logic upon start up, you'll likely get a backfire, which may compromise the vacuum connections under the plenum (not good!).

Engine sounds good as well as the transmission..

Post some pictures. Lots of ZR-1 guys in your area with tons of knowledge.

If it's in excellent shape, it's probably low. If it's in between good and excellent, it's about right where the market is. I know people don't want to hear it, but the market on these sucks for what the car is, and it isn't getting any better.

From Jan of 2016 until Jan of 2018 a good 1991 dropped 12% and an excellent dropped 8%.

In the same time period, a 1990 in good condition dropped 16% and an excellent dropped 13%.

A very nice ZR-1! When visiting the dealers website to get a good look at the car, I noticed the hood seems to be out of alignment, maybe by an 1/8" on the drivers side above the gill panel. Something I noticed and wanted to mention.

On the dealers site, if you select the image of the Z, it enlarges the photos for a slide show format. If you view image number 35, this is the overlap I am referring to. Also, image 19 looks as if the grey radio/climate bezel had been removed. Check the alignment directly under the FUEL/TRIP reset buttons. Would the bezel be removed to remove a warning bulb such as the Service Ride Control indicator? I see the shifter boot was changed out so the misalignment may be related to the shifter boot swap? The interior looks great, it looks as if the car was well cared for. Hope you are able to get them down to where it works for you. I’ve been cross shopping ZR-1s and ’96 Grand Sports for the last few months, I can imagine how exciting it must be to find the right car.

Outstanding attention to detail... Thanks for pointing that out. I did notice the bezel space next to the fuel/trip button, but hadnt thought of the reason could be to remove the bulb.... I didnt notice the hood at all!! Well, if they will negotiate some on the price, I might ask one of the guys above to go check it out and definitely check the areas you mention...
Thank you!

Myself and =Jeff= are just 12miles from Naperville. Of course, there’s Pete and Marc close by as well.

Cool..thank you kindly for the offer. When convenient for you, I might ask you to take a look at this car for me if I can get him down a bit. I have had the salesperson check all the normal C4 things like seat controls lumbar & sides... windshield delam, radio/cd heat/A/C and he has so far been very helpful and answering all of my emails with good detail.

There is also a member of this forum selling a 90 with low miles that is pretty well sorted that I am extremely interested in. Very well sorted car and all the ZR-1 LT-5/ZF6 issues already tended to. And less money to boot.

Im not sure which way to go just yet.

From my records, 1991 #1379 was for sale on eBay in October 2011, in Florida, with 10,000 miles. I don't know if it sold then.
