Went to the track
Hi all hope your winter isn't treating you all to badly we are enjoying summer over here in New Zealand
I went to my local drag strip and raced my ZR-1 for the first time since getting it going again after my engine failed I got a best time of 12.68 @ 113.25 MPH I haven't tuned the engine yet a good start I think I would like to see if I can a 12.3 one day Regards Glen Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk |

Re: Went to the track
THAT is some good drivin'!
I've seen 12.3s done, and my best was a 12.4. But, those cars had been ported with free flowing exhaust and dyno around 430 SAE rwhp HP and going through the trap at 120-121 mph. So, a tune may help a little, but my experience is that a few more HP is going to help a lot in getting to 12.3s. It's about -18C outside as I type this. We're all envying you right now! Thanks for posting. We (I) needed that!

Nice, What was your 60'? Getting that lower will help get your times down.

Re: Went to the track
You didn’t say what gears you were running.
Your engine is strong for being almost stock, most stock motor ZR-1’s trap at about 110mph. 4.10 gears will give a solid improvement in 60ft. Times. 4.10’s and drag radials gave me a best 60ft. Of 1.76, and a best e.t. of 12.06 @ 117mph, with a stock engine, headers, 3” exhaust, single mass flywheel. Stock motor cars (especially the 405hp. version),are actually capable of high elevens with lots of external bolt-ons, and cool air. For the first time out, you’re doing great, Glen. Keep it up! flywheel Sent from my iPhone using ZR-1 Net Registry

Second run was12.926 @112.46mph with a R/T of.167 Third run was 13.081mph @ 113.18 with .254 R/T Fourth run was in 13.008 @112.80mph with a .239 R/T Last two race had bad R/Ts so will have to work on my R/Ts the car is running good and consistent with .157 difference in time's just let myself self down with my reaction time's I am going back to Meremere next weekend if the weather is good and will see how we go Regards Glen Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk |

Re: Went to the track
I wouldn’t worry about reaction time at this point, ( I go on when I see the last yellow light up, but yours will vary.)
That 60ft. Time is the big deal. Every .10 drop in the 60ft. Means multiple car lengths at the other end. Good luck Sent from my iPhone using ZR-1 Net Registry
