Hello, I am at home in Munich.. and new here
Yust to introduce myself:
I am 61 years old, i am born in Munich and live here. I drive a C5 Commemorative Edition Europe, Nbr.11 of 46. In winter a VW Golf 4. In Jan. 2014 I coud by my ZR-1 as second owner with about 52,500 miles. I have big fun with my ZR-1 ! Even I had to repare a lot... the car run in Luxemburg, the mechanics there didn't know much about LT5 ... is my impression. I found a qualified mechanic near Aachen (ca. 400 mls away) for the motor - a big problem, because the LT5 is quite rare here and not at all the usual Corvette-Engine. My mechanic . Thomas - drives a ZR-1 himself, he is in contact with Marc Haibeck. In the moment the engine has about 430 hp and 506 Nm torque. Quite fascinating for a car of that age. Best regards Michael |

Welcome to the board and ZR-1 brotherhood.
Munich is a wonderful city. I travel through there occasionally on my way to Augsburg for business.

Right You are !
We have on some parts of the Autobahn no speed-limit. With little trafic going fast is possible. Best speed till now was about 168 mph... as lack of courage not faster. The cassis has new PU-jacks... but the steering is quite direct, so going straight at this speed is very thrilling. |

Re: Hello, I am at home in Munich.. and new here
When I go to Augsburg from Munich airport I usually take the recently rebuilt Highway 8 which has several long strait sections of perfect pavement with no speed limits. I always dream of what speeds my ZR-1 could do on this road if given the chance.

@Phil:
The Highway 8 is new, but perfect pavement..... not really.. it's a little bit like "bull-riding"... the way Munich to Augsburg, the way back is better. |

Best regards and welcome Michael. It sounds as though you now have a good combination of knowledge and skill to keep your ZR-1 happy. Jim
