New exhaust system with 3 "cutouts
While my ECM and chip are out being tested, i removed my power effects
exhaust system. Then installed a stock LT1 system with factory mufflers with H pipe and added 3" cutouts. I have not tried it as the ECM and chip won't be tested until Monday or later this week. Re: New exhaust system with 3 "cutouts
That's what I did with my '95. After testing probably a half dozen systems over 20 years on two cars, and mostly using Corsas, I went back to a stock system with electric QTP cutouts. At first I placed them where you did and removed the spare carrier. Then decided I wanted my spare so had Marc H move them to right in front of the mufflers. Have a rocker switch hidden under the carpet on the passenger side of the console. Here are a couple of pix--Bob

Re: New exhaust system with 3 "cutouts
I do not have a sound clip of the new system with cutouts, working on it.
The stock LT1 exhaust will work just get one that was used on a manual transmission. Ii should have all the parts you need. Not sure if a lt1 system used on an auto transmission will work. When i made my system i only needed the exhaust pipes from the resonator back. My system uses Jeal headers no cats to 2 3/4 in H-pipe to the stock 2 5/8 in lt1 system. Cut outs are open/closed with a key fob. my LT1 system came off a 1995 car. John |

Re: New exhaust system with 3 "cutouts
Bob had an awesome ZR1 set-up with his Cut Outs. OP, I'm curious why not go with Corsa then add Cut Outs?

Re: New exhaust system with 3 "cutouts
C4RAY,
I brought my car in April 1994 and install the power effects system in AUG. 1997. Never tried any other system, removed PE system Feb. 2016 and installed the LT1 from a 1995 C4. Now my exhaust system consists JEAL headers, 2 3/4 in H pipe connected to 2 5/8 in LT1 mufflers with the 3in cutouts. To sort of hide the cutouts i painted the parts with high temp header paint. The PE system (resonator rear pipe and mufflers) are for sale. Prefer local sale, do not know what shipping would be. John 1990 white/black #2546 one of a few auto (4l80E) eq ZR-1's |
