It's been a little warmer winter than usual here in Wisconsin. I decided I would fire her up to warm up the oil and move her around a little. I would be tempted to drive around a little as there isn't much salt on the roads right now and things have been dry for a few days. My collector plates mean I can't legally drive it in January though
![]() When I went to put her away, I couldn't get it in reverse ... what the?? You'll know I haven't driven her in a while when I tell you I was trying to go "up" for reverse, rather than down. I finally figured it out and got back in the garage. Here's hoping for an early spring. BTW, you southerners don't have to post about how you drive all year long ![]()

Yes! Sunny, dry....couldn't stand it another minute! The air was cool and she was feeling especially frisky because of it!

Torch Reds are lookin' gooood.
![]() ![]() Didn't get to drive the Z today… it's stored in another location. But… did finish building up a 'new' Cannondale 29" mountain bike from the frame up. Some parts from the old bike (cracked frame), some parts new. Cannondale Lefty 29ers are such sweet machines -- if you're into mountain biking. Now… badly need to install an LT5… ![]() ![]()

Cliff, Didn't you know Cannondale is a subsidiary of BMW?
Disc brakes too. (Ami and I have Cross Trails (by Specialized) set up the same way. The disc brakes are ever so sweet! Best thing to come along on bicycles in a while, IMO. ![]() Oh... JK about BMW! Last edited by Paul Workman; 01-31-2016 at 04:06 AM. |

I must confess there a those beautiful days where one is totally conflicted between hitting the trails, riding a road bike, or slamming oneself and/or passenger back into the seat listening to the music of an LT5. As Paul said those are disk brakes and they are definitely the way to go. Very similar to the setup on the ZR-1 (to continue to stay on topic ![]() The brakes can grip HARD, so going down hill and maneuvering, usually one is feathering them constantly, favoring the rear. Besides stopping power, another advantage is when the wheel rim gets wet or muddy, where the old rim brakes would not be nearly as effective, the disk brakes stay dry and working. I am not sure what you mean by the word 'yoke,' but maybe it's the front setup. Cannondale developed a Lefty front fork which when I first starting riding it (on the 2011 F29er bike bought used a few years ago), soften things like a cadillac. Well, maybe not quite, but it beat hands down a high quality dual (regular) fork. The Lefty is solid (no flex) and has needle bearings - so super smooth. By the way, the tires I run now are tubeless… just like our ZR-1. ![]() And that's probably a LOT more than y'all wanted to know! But thanks for asking!?!
