Marc "sorted out my z"
After the gathering I drove my 70,000 mi. Orginal stock Z to Marc Heibeck's shop. He reconditioned the Bose, throughly checked engine which needed only injectors which he installed, installed Marc's chip, installed new antenna and he added a nifty hidden switch so I can stop the antenna from going up and down every time I turn the car off, replaced a broken seat bezel, and repaired the typical "seatbelt inflatable restraint" light issue. I drove from the state of WA to the gathering and to Marc's shop with the car running good, but after Marc's work it seriously runs flawlessly. It picked up some power, smooth at any RPM, lug it or 7000, hot or not, AC on or .... It will not miss and is silky smooth. The chip allows me for the first time to totally control the engine RPM. I thought it ran good before but the rest of my trip back to Yakima WA was sweet!!!!! I really got my money's worth with Marc's expertise!!! I had forgotten how great the orginal Bose system is too!
PS. I sure regret I did not do the parade laps since they were NOT parade laps:-

Jim it's good to here all is well. Sounds like Marc also fixed you up with his extensive knowledge of our ZR-1's. You still get my vote for longest trip to the Gathering driving your Z all that way with confidence.

I would love to do something like that, but it would be a haul for me. I might be sending him my throttlebody and getting his chip.

Re: Marc "sorted out my z"
Yeah I had Marc do injectors, coils, radiator clean, and chip mine. Got 21.3 mpg driving 5 hours there - and 25.6 on the way back. And I averaged about 74mph both ways. That right there tells you how much better it was running after Marc worked on it...
Wish I was closer to him - but then again that could get expensive..

See...small world. I stumbled on your post. Picking your car up from marc is like finding your dads hustlers at age 13. Its eye opening!

Re: Marc "sorted out my z"
I agree. Very unpretentious place considering he works on cars all over the country, however, spend some time with him in the shop and it become the hustler fold out! Anytime my car will need work a vacation to Chicago land will be planned. That is if it is not broken.
