1991 ZR1 in VA - ZR-1 Net Registry Forums

I have been lurking and learning from the forum for some time so am ready to buy...want to see how that Permagrin feels. (BTW, user name is based on my Kawasaki sport tourer not car perfection

)

Anyone know anything about the 91 ZR1 for sale at Toyota dealer in Fredricksburg? Pictures appear to be from end of summer so car has been there a while. CarFax and AutoCheck are clean and asking price seems fair. I live in TN so trying to gather as much info as possible before investing in trip to see it.

Any info or advice is greatly appreciated.

Talked with the dealer and appears they bought the car at auction in July 2013. Reports show it is a two owner but dealer has no history or paperwork.

The only information I have is that the car was for sale on eBay in May, 2013 with 25,000 miles on it. The seller was a dealer in Florida.

Sorry I am not close enough to take a look, but it looks like the car has been reasonably well cared for. I see it has an aftermarket exhaust and keyless entry system added. The exhaust upgrade should be a good thing, especially if they added good headers like Stainless Works. The entry/alarm system can be a good upgrade as well, but I'd look for paperwork on who did it; there have been pictures on the Registry of butchered wiring harnesses that introduce electrical demons that are difficult and expensive to exercise. Done correctly though, it's a nice upgrade.

To bad they don't have any pics of the LT5. I would ask for some, Its always good to see what the condition is under the hood. Can say alot about how well it was taken care of.

Whatever it is, it sounded nice when I started it up. Engine looked average last summer.

I know Southwest has great deals between Nashville and BWI. I live only 20 minutes away from BWI. If I am in town, would be my pleasure to pick you up and transport to the dealership. If the skies are clear, we will travel in #246. If other Wazoo are around, sure they will be able to meet up with us as well. My suggestion is to call the dealership and make sure the car is ready to test drive and also clean so we can see the condition of the paint. Like I stated before, they completely wasted an afternoon last summer.

Thanks, my corporate office is in Annapolis so am in out of BWI often. I would appreciate an experienced ZR-1 owner looking over a prospective car. I have a call on another ZR-1 this weekend but if it does not work out I will be back in the area week of Jan. 5. If it works outs with your schedule would appeciate any help or just to see #246.

I too inquired about this car before I bought mine from gateway classics..

Even had them send me a video via I phone...From what I was told by
One of the salesman is that it is owned privately by the owner of the dealership..
Salesman explained to me he sees the owner maybe once every two months so they can't
Negotiate a deal as far as price.....Whatever is advertised that's the price..

I paid 18,500 for mine from gateway classics...You can you tube the video if you like

Car is super clean and runs with a lot of power..
