If I'm in, it will be as a driver. Wife is still retired, so budget is still tight.

No, but it looked like lots of fun. Terry said she might come with me. That means I need to be back of the pack, she won't let me fly through the twisties. That's ok, I'd rather she was there.

What state is the first stop in?

Besides...Black cars being the fastest is a myth. RED cars fly...I can testify to that! So, she'll be fine if yours is a black car!
