Ami joins the ZR-1 family!
That mountain run turned out to be a bit more expensive than I anticipated. Ami has always liked my Z, but after the "Run", and during it, conversations got serious about buying Brett's beautiful Turq!
She didn't want to jinx her luck by saying anything till she was behind the wheel. Well, Sunday, we drove down to Brett's. And, with a tear in his eye (I saw it) Brett gave her the keys to that beautiful, fully tricked out, cammed Turq. Ami is the latest one to learn the meaning of "PERMAGRIN"! Always loving Corvettes (this is her second purchase), stick shifts, and going fast...what more could a girl want (besides a gorgeous husband??? (...three out of 4 ain't bad [sigh]! ) We drove her Buick to Pendleton to pick up the car, and after 3 or so hours of following me home, we got onto the back road series of blacktops leading to the house. I had been leading the whole way, and at corners I would lean on that ol' Buick a little to open a gap soze Ami could "try" to catch up. LOL! In a flash, there would be a big grin in my rear view mirror, and an occasional finger tip wave from the top of the steering wheel, as if to say, hiiiii! But, this time was different. Instead of being content to stay put, she kept the hammer down and that LT5 with the B&Bs went by in FULL THROATED song that only an LT5 can make! In seconds she became a speck and disappeared, (I know 3 digits when I see 'em!) never to be seen again for the 10 minutes or so it took me to get to the house. (It reminded me of the Mountain Run when we got behind some slow pokes in SUVs. Ami, got on the FRS radio and said something like, 'Are we on a Sunday drive? I could do better in my Buick!') But, when I got to the house, here she was... The Phoenix has a new stable mate now. A "his and hers" pair of Zs. As the old poem goes: "Eat. Drink. And be merry! For tomorrow we die..." Tried to post this last night, but don't see it this morning, for some reason.

Hey Paul.. so is her car FASTER than yours?
I forget the color of the interior, but I know if it is the tan/cognac, I know who has a set of 94 style seats for it

Re: Ami joins the ZR-1 family!
It was great to see Ami happy when she and I went for her first drive behind the wheel. That Turq Z is a really good car and I know it's in the right garage with the right owner (s).
She got one heck of a car! Sad to see it go but there will be others to provide the permagrin.

Re: Ami joins the ZR-1 family!
No question, Pete's cams really wakes that (or any!) LT5 up!! And, were it not for "some other distraction", the Phoenix would have had them installed last winter - or that was the plan. But! I had to get the red car back on the road. So, now those cams will have to wait till next fall/winter. In the mean time, I'll get the exhaust ready for the cam switch. ALWAYS something to do!
In the mean time, I know I can get into plenty of trouble (boy-yo-boy!) - even with 35+ hp less than the Turq has...than the 508 hp Phoenix has now! (BTW, I've got a set of the Turq's keys on my key ring too.)

Re: Ami joins the ZR-1 family!
Wow Paul, beautiful pair of cars you and your better half have there. The "rear view of the Turq, looks amazing and both cars look like they are wearing steamrollers for shoes.
I LOVE the rims, they look PERFECT on that car. Congrats to you both. I've got a big case of "jelly" going on over here.
