Default Correct Spicer "coated cap u-joints"

I've known about these for quite some time but I had never seen actual documentation confirming the coating so I never passed on the information. Didn't need laughed out of town because of the expense either.

The 1310 joint (drive-shaft) isn't ridiculously priced and is a 5-3613X, the 1350 joint (half-shaft) is yet another story and is a 5-3615X.

The Spicer/Dana TSB dated Oct 2013:

The earlier part numbers most were familiar with were moved to Spicer obsolescence years ago. This chart references those older numbers also:

Nobody really stocks those so I went with the regular ones. I can't recall if I used a light touch of anti-sieze or not (maybe on another car), but they fit well and I don't lose any sleep at night worrying that I wouldn't be able to remove them. Then again, the climate is pretty dry so probably not an issue here anyhow.

Good info there Dave...

When I ever get around to checking the U's (they're good now), I'll Parkerize the caps with Zinc-Phosphate like I do my guns.

Should take me about :30, if I take my time...

Thanks to several guys here for sending parts FREE; BearlyFlying, WeGone, Geezer, GoldCylon, and more there, TonyD, mike100, fletchusmc...

Probably cheaper option than paying what they were asking for the coated versions on the half-shafts.
