Dose anyone have a failed secondary actuator they woud want to donate so I could see if I can disect it and see if I can do a write up on rebuilding them so we dont have to rely on 20+ year old OEM parts on shelves it seems to be one of the rare specific parts on our cars. I figured if I found out how to rebuild our tensioners may as well tackle the next part.

The best explanation on how to install the secondary canister is provided by Jerry. Very appropriate here for backup information
![]() I have installed NEW canisters with the linkage arm straight contrary to what is/was normal (the original canisters were properly installed with the linkage arm at an angle). I have also modified the canister arm for an original installation so the arm did not contact the canister arm opening. Secondary Canister Installation TIPS Both installations seem to function without any interference. But for the record see Secondary Canister Installation FACTS TIPS

If you need another one, let me know. I have a couple.
By the way, when I redid my secondaries, I had one of the "new" actuators and "new" secondary vac solenoid fail within a month of install! I replaced the failed actuator with the good old one I removed, and bought a new solenoid. All has worked great for a couple years now. |
