Default Cracked Air Filter Housing

On my 1990 ZR-1 the air filter housing has a crack along the molding seam.
Any ideas on repair or where to buy a new one?

Thanks in advance.

The majority have a similar situation and you could likely have it "plastic welded" to offer the maximum strength for a repair. I don't believe I'd attempt any epoxy type repair. Plastic welded by a competent shop should do well and most collision shops should be able to help you. It could be an interesting project for a vocational body repair class if there's any in your area.

I have had good luck fixing plastic cracks and breaks with JB Kwik Weld. May not be the high dollar or perfect solution - but if you aren't concerned with having the stuff on the outside it will work. It is black - but you do need to get it on there about 1/8" thick or so. I have also used blue painters tape to tape off the area I want to put the stuff to make it neater. My plastic radiator tank on my DD cracked about 3 months ago and this stuff fixed that. In fact my skimmer plate for my garden pond broke where the spring loaded bar goes into the skimmer - and I have it in the garage with the JB drying on it right now. Will be good as new tomorrow...

Yeah unfortunately it happens not rely a big deal but you could try the plastic weld. As flew a Replacement I believe the Same part was used in every 91 and up car.

Harbor Freight or Menards get a plastic weld kit and go to town! I think they are $12 at Menards(that's the hot iron welder)...was at a body shop and saw a demo using a Harbor Freight welder(using 1200 degree air gun and an Iron)...fixed a large bumper tear....we tried to rip it after and could not do it. pretty amazing stuff.

just like with welding groove the crack and fill

It shouldn't be too hard to find another housing at a used parts place that specializes in Vettes. Why screw around trying to fix it?
