7th Annual Run to Da River - Laughlin Overnighter
Okay ACEholes, it’s time for the 7th Annual Run to Da River!
This is an overnight trip, October 12 – 13.
MEETPOINT:
Walmart Supercenter
13770 West Bell Road, Surprise: Meet here for a prompt 10:00 am departure.
One stop enroute at Wikiup's Trading post for a break and gas and then we'll head on in to Laughlin, with a short detour to Davis Dam for photo op (thanks for the reminder, Yuma Rich!)
A lot of you have rewards at the Aquarius so let’s stay there.
FYI – this is Columbus day weekend – Monday the 14th is a holiday for a lot of folks.
There is the Ink Mayhem tattoo convention and the Das Beer Fest this weekend in Laughlin.
Note for newbies: this is one of the premier ACE runs, and not to be missed. We run to Laughlin as a group but once we get there, it’s do whatever you want.
*Again for this year we will be able to park out front, they will block off 20 spots for us at the moment*.

Norterra Car Show Fall Kick-Off
The nights are cooling off and Norterra's Main Street is heating up! The Norterra Car Show returns Friday, October 11th, 6-9pm on Main Street.
The first 75 people to bring their cars get a free t-shirt.
Enjoy live music by Come Back Buddy and Ghandi's Garage, Free face painting for children , Samples by Norterra restaurants
Enter to win prize drawing by Norterra shops and restaurants
Enjoy $4 cups at Yogurtini. All the frozen yogurt and toppings you can fit in a regular sized cup for only $4. Valid 6pm - close.
All custom, classic and exotic cars are welcome to be displayed on Main Street. Participation is free, parking is limited and on a first come first serve basis.
The Norterra Car Show continues the second Friday of every month through May.
If you have a car to display, cars will be allowed to park on Main Street beginning at 5pm at the entrance near Buffalo Wild Wings. If you arrive earlier than 5pm you must park in a parking stall as to not disrupt traffic. If you have questions please contact Carrie 623-582-9599.

The Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving will be using the the dragstrip as a the straightaway for the Main Track configuration during Bob Bondurant’s 80th birthday celebration. The birthday celebration will include, among other things, a nostalgic road race and car show. Bondurant’s birthday celebration will be held October 11 – 13, 2013. We spoke to Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park President Dick Hahne. Hahne tells us that phase two of the renovations to the grounds is scheduled to begin October 15th when the demolition of the dragstrip is scheduled to begin.
In the mean time, progress on the property has been moving forward. The property is looking good. It has been re-branded with the Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park logo. The grounds are clean and looking sharp. Both spectators and participants at this past weekend’s Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series’ Fall Classic Complimented the property.
October 11 – 13, 2013, 3-Day Event Celebrating Bob Bondurant’s 80th Birthday at the Wild Horse MotorSports Park/Bondurant Road Course (formerly known as Fire Bird Park) in Chandler, Arizona.
Friday, October 11 – Our race drivers will be practicing on the tracks in the evening. Time TBA
Saturday, October 12th: MAIN EVENT. There will be a Vintage Road Race, Jet Dragster, Cackle Fest, Vendors, Foods & Drinks.
Sunday, October 13th: Come enjoy our last day of celebration from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. Our race drivers will be on the track running laps beginning at 8:00 am and our Car Show will run from 9:00 am – 2:30 pm. Awards will be presented after 2:30 pm.
This race and car show is a part of the Grand Opening of the Wild Horse Motorsports.
