90-91 A/C Compressor Wanted
Anybody have a spare A/C Compressor with clutch/pulley they want to sell?
I've had a belt issue for a while and finally figured out since my compressor was replaced sometime in the past, the A/C pulley was off by almost 1/4"too far towards the front of the car causing the belt to ride on the pulley shoulder boogering up the edge of the belt. There were no shims behind the pulley/bearing so no way to set the pulley back to where it belongs. Thanks, Gibby |

Re: 90-91 A/C Compressor Wanted
Gibby,
I think the problem is not with your compressor, but rather with the clutch, specifically the pulley. The compressor alone is also LT5 specific, meaning the compressor you have now is correct. The LT1 clutch looks almost identical to the LT5, but is wrong in the direction you described. If you can post a picture of your pulley so I can see the side/belt groove area, I can probably tell you if it's the wrong pulley. Bad news is, finding the correct, LT5 specific clutch/pulley. I've been working on this very same project extensively for the last several weeks, with no success yet. Denso offers the compressor/clutch assy for the LT5, but will not sell the clutch only. I have quite a few NOS LT5 R134 compressors, but no clutches, so it's important for me to develop a source as well. I can have the pulleys machined, but the coil is my snag presently.
