Seat Touch Up
I have a 94 blk/blk with sport seat. As is common, entry side side bolsters we worn and cracked areas showed thru due to black finish having cracked off.
I found interior leather/carpet spray manufactured by Duplicolor and tryed the product. I used satin black spray. After masking off at the seams and covering center console area w/ old sheet, I sprayed the area with multiple thin coats. Result was excellent. Color and shininess matched perfect. |

Re: Seat Touch Up
Thanks for the info!!
I may have to try that as there is a spot worn off about the size of a dime on my bolster and it bothers me. |

Re: Seat Touch Up
pictures please!!! my Collectors Edition is showing signs of wear on the drivers side bolster.. the rest of the seats are 100% perfect and spending almost 1000 bones for new leather seats isn't worth it to me.. I would like to give this a try.. is there a product that actually fills the cracks? or what do ya think an upholstery shop would charge to replace the bolster leather?
thanks in advance! Chris |

Re: Seat Touch Up
Unless crack is so severe on the verge of split, sign of wear comes from black pigment having fallen off the crack. Touch up with super-fine brush or spray takes care of this.
Not with ZR-1 but my old BMW, when crack was on the verge of split, I used clear epoxy, filled and feathered the edge best I can, then brushed on grey touch up paint. Toghest part was mixing the grey w/ other colors to match the exact color. As for replacing a part of upholstery, the best solution by far, I have no idea what the charge would be. |

Re: Seat Touch Up
If you will contact your local high line car dealer ...even upscale Chevy dealers, ask them who their mobile interior repair person is, they come around and fix their lot cars interior and if you find a good one they do a GREAT job, better than any do it yourself kit. It is money well spent, I know of what I speak.
