New Radiator??
Hey, y'all!
I'm in the market for a new radiator (to replace the broken one on my Z). Suggestions/prices for a replacement radiator??? Frankly, the stock one with Marc's fan control program was more than sufficient for even some spirited hwy driving, so I don't think I need to go bigger. Thanks in advance!! P.

I would just go with a Ron Davis Aluminum radiator and be done with it 1. Ron Davis Radiator w/o transmission cooling a. 1989-1996 C4 Type V8 All Part No. 1-16CV8996 b. Rated 800 Hp c. Manual transmission d. For the Ron Davis radiator the fan shroud inside baffles have to be cut back 5/8 inch so there is not contact with the fins of the radiator. Use a small cut off grinder for that task. e. I cut the tab on the passenger side of the fiberglass radiator housing (the single tab with larger bolt hole that interferes the most with the oil cooler hoses). The fiberglass radiator housing then slipped on easily without further modifications. LT5 Radiator and Initial Coolant Fill Tricks Last edited by Dynomite; 08-03-2013 at 11:49 PM. |

Re: New Radiator??
if you use a stock replacement you'll end up with one for an auto car I think. I'd rather go aftermarket and then be able to pump fluid into the rad at high rpm then not

Re: New Radiator??
When I rebuilt EX5023 I just bought a six speed radiator from the local parts store. ZR-1 application.

Re: New Radiator??
I'd agree w Cliff. Just driving the ZR around a few weeks ago w the A/C on(picked up the wife from work) H2O temps went to 230 until I could get on the road. But stop and go is an issue with temps at 90+ and A/C.

Re: New Radiator??
Paul,
It looks like your link to the Fluidyine goes to a stock GM radiator. Cheers, Ron
