Default Emissions Results...

OK,

I had emissions due on 3 of my Vettes. The LT5 turbo car, the stock LT5 car and the Turbo LT1 car.

Test was performed at idle and 2500 RPM static.

Here's how they did (Weber County UT):

LT1

733 RPM (CO2) 15.17 (O2) 0.00 (HC) 26 max 220 (CO2) 0.072 max 1.2 Results Pass
2501RPM (CO2) 15.14 (O2) 0.10 (HC) 11 max 220 (CO2) 0.045 max 1.2 Results Pass

Twin Turbo LT5

732 RPM (CO2) 14.92 (O2) 0.41 (HC) 157 max 220 (CO2) 0.165 max 1.2 Results Pass
2571RPM (CO2) 14.34 (O2) 0.76 (HC) 66 max 220 (CO2) 0.568 max 1.2 Results Pass

Stock LT5 (76K miles)

643 RPM (CO2) 14.64 (O2) 0.68 (HC) 40 max 220 (CO2) 0.031 max 1.2 Results Pass
2526RPM (CO2) 14.96 (O2) 0.32 (HC) 6 max 220 (CO2) 0.000 max 1.2 Results Pass

Just curious if these would have passed in more restrictive states??

Cheers,

2 speed idle test is only 4-gas test. NOx is 5-gas dyno test. Looks like all cars would pass the sniffer on a 2 speed idle test in Cali, unknown on 5-gas IM-240 dyno test.

Almost surely the stock LT5 car would be a passing grade. the other two would fail the visual in CA.

enhanced areas use the 5-gas dyno test. semi rural zones still use the 2-speed idle test. extra rural zones use the 2 speed idle test and are not subject to biannual inspection, just have to smog when titles transfers (lucky bastiches).

As a note, your OP has a typo...CO is carbon monoxide or CO, not CO2. CO2 is an indicator of catalyst efficiency. Around 15% is ideal.
