Hello,
My name is Doug Gifford and last month a very nice 1991 Turquoise Metallic ZR1 arrived at my house in Brownsburg, Indiana, moved in and took up permanent residence in my garage alongside my trusty 1989 blue w/ blue leather, MN6 FX3 Coupe. The end of a long search. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The sales section of this forum, a nice gentleman (and Vette lover - Phil Bender) from California and my very understanding wife, Debbie, all helped to make it happen. Thanks. The car has 36K miles and has been very well maintained. The ZR has been lowered one inch (nicely done) with longer bolts in the rear and the central spring pad removal (I think) in the front. I plan to return the car to standard height and would benefit from any recommendations. Can the pad be built back up or is the best choice getting a new spring? Look forward to hearing from folks. Doug Gifford |

I to am fairly new to the ZR1 family. Everytime I get behind the wheel of my vette, I feel like a kid waking on christmas morning and when I turn the key it is just like unwraping my favorite toy.

Hey Doug,
Congrats on the new Z. Most people like the look of the car lowered. I would probaly think about it before returning it to the original height. How's it look to you? |

Thanks for the responses Fort94z and Not4kt.
Fort94z - I agree on the ride height - it does look better lowered. I'll probably drive it for the season and see how it goes. Had it out tonite at a local shopping center show. Sure is a joy to drive. |

I've own an 87 Coupe, 78 Pace Car, 91 Vert, 01 Coupe, and just bought the ZR1 last week.
I have to say, of all the Vettes I've own, the ZR1 is my favorite. |

Hello Doug, and welcome to the forum.
It sounds like you have a very nice Z there, and I agree with the others who suggested you give it a little time before raising it back up to see if you like it lowered. |
