Hmmmm a resonator x pipe ????
Well just got my new issue of the wish book[summit] and scanning through the pages when I came upon pg 64at the top center Ultra flow x mufflers. I'm wondering if this could be the ticket for those of us that would like an x pipe without having to carry a bottle of advil in the car for the "drone "headache. I'm sure think it could be the ticket. Whats everyone think?

Re: Hmmmm a resonator x pipe ????
Just FYI, but Magnaflow also offers a resonator that X's inside it. I beleive they call it their "Tru-X" line or something like that. Basically the same kind of perforated glass-packed piping but they merge together inside like an x-pipe vs being two independent pipes.

Re: Hmmmm a resonator x pipe ????

Re: Hmmmm a resonator x pipe ????
So has anyone used the Dynomax Ultra-Flow X Muffler as a resonator?
Any reason why it would not be a good choice to get some benefit of an X pipe while retaining lower interior noise |

Re: Hmmmm a resonator x pipe ????
It looks a little too wide to fit IMHO.

Re: Hmmmm a resonator x pipe ????
i have it on my black car . headers 3in in to the x muff then 23/4 out to 50 series flowmaster dual out let mufflers . it looks just like factory as we cut the tips off the stock exhaust. setup this way it makes good power and quiet too.

Tried the Dynomax 3" x-pipe resonator/muffler on my 90 and it wouldn't fit unless you modified (i.e. widened) the space on the Vette or pushed the sides of the Dynomax in to clear the space in the tunnel. I (rather Corey Henderson) attempted to make this work last summer and decided that the fitment was much too close so I put my Borla Challenger system back on. Still have plans to go with an x-pipe of some type, just haven't had time to experiment further. George 1990 black/black |

Re: Hmmmm a resonator x pipe ????
Nice!
that is what I wanted to hear. I plan on going 3" after the X muff all the way to a pair of hooker Aero-Chambers...any thoughts on those? Did you weld on your own hangers? Thanks |
