Re: Mojave 1.5 Mile
To All,
As I told the participants at the Mojave Mile last weekend, our future events were in jeopardy as a result of a fatality that ocurred two weeks ago at an event at Mojave that was put on by another promoter. The Mojave Airport wanted to review the risk of continuing to let automotive events continue on their property before approving any further events. Part of that review was a very close scrutiny of last weekend's Mojave Mile. I am pleased to announce that I have been informed by the Mojave Airport that MKM WILL be allowed to continue with our Mile and 1.5 mile programs. Thanks to the help and cooperation of this week's racers, who were on their best behavior, Mojave was very pleased with what they perceive to be a safe and professionally-run event attended by responsible and mature participants. To convey to you how special this is, you should also know that Mojave will no longer permit any other automotive events from any other promoter to run on their Airfield. In appreciation, I assured Mojave that we will continue to promote the safest and best events possible to retain their trust. I know that all of you who have attended our events in the past and plan to return, plus the new rookies we will see who are reading this, will support us to keep it that way. We owe a big thanks to everyone, past and present, who contributed to "making us look good" in the eyes of Mojave and we look forward to seeing our events grow in popularity. Now, ON TO THE MAGNUM!!! Re: Mojave 1.5 Mile
That is all I know, it was a copy/paste from Mojave mile forum(Mike Borders), really brings all the safety gear/tech right into focus, might be a bike?
Hope you can make it to 1.5 Ron! |

Re: Mojave 1.5 Mile
Wow, that really sucks. And they said he was driving
a GT40. "This wasn't the Mojave Mile. It was 14 guys alone at a runway." I wonder if this was the GT40 group we always saw at the MM, this time on their own? Last edited by tf95ZR1; 05-09-2012 at 01:39 AM. Reason: Wanted 2 |
