Default 18x12 rear wheels

I have a set of wheels I was going to put on my other vette, but decided I want to put them on the Z. They stick out on the C5 and I'm not interested in fender flares. Question I have is will these work on the Z. They are 18x12 wheels with 335x30x18 tires mounted. The backspacing on them is 8 inches. How deep can you go with the rear wheels without rubbing? I know the stock rears are 7.37 inch backspacing. Is there .6 inches of area back there still to fit these without rubbing?

I have done a search and seen that there are people running 18 and 19 inch wheels with 335 and 345 width rears, but not sure of their backspacing and if they had to do something to the car to fit them.

Anyone out there running 335 and 345 tires and can confirm they fit under there and what their backspacing is and/or mods to make them fit without rubbing something.

Thanks.
Greg

I have a set of HRE 504 that are 17x12. I have 335 35 17 on them.
I have .25" from the rim lip to the trailing arms...

18"/19" might be different.... I'll look for some pics if that helps....

And get a back measurement tonight when I get home...

I have 17x13 Dymag GenII's. Part of the rear knuckle was shaved approx .250 and I have longer studs and spacers. Offset will be the key in your case.

Coupe89,
Thanks. That is the information I have been searching for. I know the GS wheels are basically the same backspacing as these wheels except for size (18 instead of 17).

Blue Flame,
Having to shave anything is what I want to avoid doing. If i have to do that, I won't use these wheels on the Z. Too bad though, I think they would look good on it. Not to mention these things look like steam rollers. LOL

My GenII's have a special offset. You may not have to do anything with the correct spacer and offset. Remember, my wheels are 13".

Queston, are the wheels you have Hub Centric? You do not want to rely on the studs alone for centering the wheel on the hub and absorbing road shock.

I have stock 12" C6 Z06 wheels w 57mm offset. I am using hub and wheel centric 18mm spacers. Also have longer GM racing studs.

So your wheel offset taking the 18mm spacers into the equation is 39mm. My wheels are 38mm offset so they should fit just fine. And yes they are also hub centric as well. Thanks for the info.

Greg,

Sounds like you won't be needing any longer studs.
