Doing some work on my LT5
Hi Guys,
Thought I would show a little of the work I have been doing recently. I got the Throttle body taken out to 63mm by Greg Van deventer and Corey Henderson did the injector housings and plenum. I thought I would go crazy and polish the outside and remove any unneccessary casting bumps etc. I couldn't help myself and had to spend a few hours on the insides as well. |

Re: Doing some work on my LT5
Jeff, mine had similar ones on there that bolted to the same place and looked really ordinary so I chopped them off and made some nice smooth ones and had them welded on.
It was only after I polished them, I looked at heaps of pics on the net and it doesn't look like any of them have them - I assumed everyone must just chop them off as they were pretty flimsy. I could chop them back off, but I'll see how they look when the engine is re-assembled. They do look like they serve a purpose but not essential? Mine don't have those other bosses back on the main rectangular bit that bolt to the inj housing either. Maybe because it was a late pre production prototype engine as best I can work out. |

Re: Doing some work on my LT5
The coolant pipe tabs are prototype, not sure what vintage, but pre-89.
