Anybody want to save Ruby #65?
Corvettenutz here in Ca has the car and they are getting ready to part it out but would like somebody to save it before they break out the saws.I know very little about the car other than its got 130K miles and has a clean title.I honestly dont know why somebody would treat a ZR-1 like this.Asking $10,000 for the car.Heres the car on YouTubehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAJ0tlfpNAE

Re: Anybody want to save Ruby #65?
Not if you do your own work, mine only needed another about 4K on top of the purchase price of 7K including the cost of gas for me to trailer it to my house. And that was for a car that had some internal engine damage. If this one is running, even better.
If I had an extra 10K laying around, ( , sorry couldn't hold a straight face on that one!) I'd go for it depending on condition.

Re: Anybody want to save Ruby #65?
That was for sale on CF some time ago. Maybe for sale here as well.
Poor thing wasn't taken care of at all.

Re: Anybody want to save Ruby #65?
is this the one that has the src light on it? I don't see where this $15,000 number is coming from, you can replace the entire suspension set up for around $2000 and have a much better set up under the car

Re: Anybody want to save Ruby #65?
I had a chance to buy a well kept '91 DRM car with less than 50k on it for $15k, not sure I would be too enthused to get a wreck for $10k.
I'm going to try to get down there soon to buy some other things...or maybe parts off that sucka. But if it even remotely looks like some kind of potential is present, I'll let you know on this thread. |

Bitter Sweet...
Hate to see a Ruby or any ZR-1 bite the dust but it makes all the rest just a little more rare...

Re: Anybody want to save Ruby #65?
Well after watching the vid it does appear that she is gong to need a lot.
Too bad. Have to agree with Mike 100 on this one. In this economy I am afraid it will not be saved with the asking price 10K. Now at 5-7K maybe??

At $5~7K, it would be parted out.
