LT5 NO EMMISIONS
I see the LT5 in street rods with no apparent emissions canisters or anything coming off the engine. Since I'm in IN and we have no inspections, and I'm piecing this drivetrain together, I'd like to leave all of this stuff off the car. It's missing anyway.
What do I need to do to run without the emmisions stuff? Burn a chip or????

Re: LT5 NO EMMISIONS
You are going to have a chip burnt from Marc or??? Since you are not installing the emmsisions the ECM will be commanding systems 'on' and may throw a code??? ie: ECM canster purge selonid 'on' by supplying a ground.. I'd sure give Marc a call.

Re: LT5 NO EMMISIONS
Did you use both I/E reground cams? 500hp? Is that rw and did you measure on dyno?
Brett, Things like Charcoal canister and DFCO, can be disabled in the cal. I do that when tuning so they don't muddle the results. After I have the VE and Spark set, I turn them back on and fine tune from there. Last edited by XfireZ51; 10-08-2011 at 09:53 AM. |

Thanks. I was curious since I'll be taking mine to do some dyno tuning at end of the week. BTW, my Xfire would get close to 105mph at the end of the 1/4. |

Thanks, Dom. I'm going to install all of the emmisions on the 88 but not on the 90 and 92. The 90 is almost ready to send to Pete. Been working on the plumbing. That kid raped this car of everything extra. No fuel ines, brake lines, fuel tank, booster, slave cylinder, etc. Stripped pretty clean. I have almost everything gathered up and installed now. It's a very straight and solid car though. Only has 40k miles. Clean as a whistle underneath, too. It'll make a very good driver/waxer Callaway kit daily driver. Now, I just need to collect some parts for the 92. I NEED AC LINES from the compressor to the evaporator box.
