zr1 cooling
Hi , I,m new to the forum,I am looking for any info on removing of the steam ,air lines on the sides of the intake above the main coolant lines to the motor, I have seen other show cars with lt 5 not running these line , but what might be probles you,ll have ??

Hi, I think those lines that run down the sides of the plenum are for the circulation that warms the T-body and the plenum. I believe the function of that circulation is to keep the T-body warm in cold climates?
You may want to look at the Helm manual's cooling diagrams to see for sure what the results of blocking that stuff off. I can't see why you can't do it but I'm sure the cold weather operation would be affected.  Tom

Okay, I can see the cosmetic issue. The hoses are black & stand out too much. I think that is a lot of work to do it the right way as Jeff says.
What about using the LT5 paint on them so they match the engine color. Or if you really want the "look" get them in S/S braided replacement segments? If you remove them are you really gonna change the air/fuel charge temp that much??? Tom

If I thought it would cool the plenum down to remove them Id do it, never see an icy condition out here.

Gentlemen, good morning, I have been reading this post and I am a bit confused (not hard to believe), but these lines that are dicussing what do they exactly look like, it's been 4 months since I have seen my car, any pictures.
