Question 4:10 gears.. Yes or no?

There has been lot talk about gear change, but..

Is it good idea change 4:10 gears or not?

more torque, less traction.. more fun..

Other mods I have: Fidanza aluminium flywheel, Headers, RT Cats, Corsa and chip.

i have mixed feelings regarding the 4.10 gears. while it makes the car more responsive,it does render first gear almost useless...i am aware that if i go
for more power,i would want to switch to 3.73 or 3.90...also,my 4.10 gearset,
being a + set,was touching the cover

I was, and I still am, considering doing the 410 gear swap. However being the speed freak i am, I like being able to hit 120 in third. I think Im going to port/polish/pc the top end and call it a day. Now this may change when I drive a 410 geared car

IMHO, and from what I have heard, 4:10's are not recommended for
hi HP modded engines. Mine is stock, and I do a lot of city (L.A.) driving,
so I love my 4:10's. Very responsive, and in the rare event I can get going
on the freeway, it makes 6th gear useable.
On the other hand, I got my set up from an east coast guy who did a lot of
high speed driving and wanted to change back.

The 410's are to make up for the lack of low end, once you have that, or don't care, you don't need the 410's

Thumbs up Re: 4:10 gears.. Yes or no?

Yes for me. I have read all the pros and cons and for me on this island....I have to get the 4:10s. I want the improved driveability and use of 6th gear. Heck, I just want to have fun slamming though the gears.

Have the 4:10's and LOVE them. Would never go back. Although rear tire wear has become a problem
