My buddy & me!
This morning I get a call from Rob. Hey man! What are you doing today? Oh getting ready to pick up an alternator for the mazda 626. Why? He says theres a corvette show down in pearland (a suburb of houston) I said lets go. I'll replace the alternator sunday. So he took his black 93 Z. And I met up with him in the red 90 Z. Of course when we got there I knew many of the guys that were having their cars judged. Members of my corvette club which I've been slowly distancing myself from over the last few years. It was nothing but c5's and c6's blinged out to the max. And they all brought there trophy's with them displaying them all around their cars. Some had 15 or 20 a piece. Both Rob and I thought anyone that enters a corvette show and brings all their trophy's with them to put on display is just freakin gay. We did see 2 Ron Fellows Zo6's there which was cool. But we got bored and went on down the road. A little while later we came up on another car show that was being held in a church parking lot. So we pulled on in there. They were raising money for kids with cancer. It was a much better car show with so much veriety. Classic vettes mopars fords grand national gnx. Just all sorts of neat cars and a much less arrogent bunch of people also. Then we got back on the road and were acting like two roudy teenagers. Showing vulgar displays of power. Picking on some 350 Z's while on the freeway. We were bullies. hehehe! We had allot of fun today running all over Houston. We must of put 200 miles on our ZR-1's. Plus it was good for them.

Ive got to agree with you on the arrogance part.At some point it just becomes comical. And just how many C5-C6s can anybody look at?

Re: My buddy & me!
And Jeff that's excactly why I want nothing to do with corvette clubs anymore. They all come from the same cookie cutter. And it doesn't matter wether its a c4 Z51. A c4 ZR-1 . Or an LPE 415. In their eyes its just inferior junk. They think because they own a brand new grand sport or Zo6 that they are high society or some sh$t. Got a news flash for ya! Its a corvette not a Lamborginni or a Buggatti Veyron for god sakes. Jeff every time I scheduled a racing event for the club none of those pansies would even show up. And the one time one of them did show up in his C6, every time he would make a run down the strip his freaking bling lights kept falling off the car and they flagged him off the track. He got pissed off and went home crying about his neon lights. So I guess I'm just not club material.

I don't even bother wasting my time with people like that. "Oooo, look at me, I can put all kinds of shiny crap on my car, I'm soooo cool!!"
That's one main reason I bought my ZR-1, they are special and there aren't 2 million of them on the road. I don't want a cookie cutter car, I want a more rare one.

Re: My buddy & me!
I've been driving it for the last two weeks to work and back because of the alternator going out on the daily driver and just didn't have time to replace it. So yesterday before I met Rob I fired it up and heard this tic tic tic that would fade away after a few seconds. I don't hear my cam chains rattle anymore. It starts up with no noises at all. Perfect. So I suspected I might be low on oil. So after I let it warm up I turned it off and let it sit for 15 minutes before checking the oil level. It was so low on oil the tip of the dipstick barely had a drop on it. That poor thing was starving. Filled it back up and it purred like a kitten upon start up again. The 90's really drink oil. And the harder you drive it the more it drinks.
