Re: Big Bore LT5 builder
Funny how he "just happens" to be in the center of the FBI's turf
I don't believe that price includes the billet crank...Have to add about $5500 to that price - puts you up around $14k. Then there's cams to consider - add that and a gasket set and labor, if not a DIY project. Then there's that all important cam timing formula. (Did I mention porting and bigger valves??) So, everything included, it would be crowding $20k or more, starting with a 350 motor. You'd have to be rich (or at least own a pizza joint!) to afford that kind of upgrade! Now if you started with a 415, you would be much closer! From there the crank and porting is done. Now your looking at the short block, gaskets, and labor. a 427 or a 441 could be had for just under $15k, if I do the math right. Pete n Bob G could tell you in the finest detail about building a big inch from one of those "FBI" blocks. P.

Re: Big Bore LT5 builder
Wow.....nice link! I wouldn't mind yanking my 415 out to do the larger bore really quick.
Maybe a 4.185 to match my little 900hp 358 sb2 cylinder size!?!??!!!
