Hey guys,
I was taking the top end off including the oil catch can that i installed a year and half ago. Upon removing it, i noticed of how much oil it catch over the year. Man!!! this thing does work. The inside of all the runners are silver and tan color. If I didn't have them, the inside would have been all black. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I empty mine about once a month during driving season. I usually get about 2-3 tablespoon of oil each time.

Its good to see how things works sometime. I was expecting more like maybe a teaspoon but to see more then one ounce of oil that could of end up in the intake was surprising to me.

Yeah, I do mine every fillup and it's probably a few tablespoons. Not a lot, but it adds up. Last time I pulled the plenum off, it was oil free.

Shayne, the big contributor of oil is your high rpm use. If you keep them low, you will have very little. But start banging the gears and keeping the revs up, you will have more oil.

Jeff is right, these cars are not meant to be jumped on & keeping them at 30-50 mph is the best thing you can do. It's scarry, but I try to start mine once per year, what if a drop of oil got somewhere!! it's not worth the chance, keep'em garaged and only start them every couple years... ![]() |

Hehehe Jeff you are correct. I do drive the car hard. I guess i need to keep it down a bit. But its hard not to drive the car hard, when you have the freeway to yourself at 2 am in the morning coming home every other night. I drive my car and i don't keep it the garage although i do admires people who does. They keep their car in immaculate condition.

Shayne, where did you buy that oil separator? I think I have seen similar ones on e-bay, but was skeptical as they were mostly listed for use with the import tuner crowd.
TIA ![]() Tom

TIA ![]() Tom[/QUOTE A friend gave it to me. He has several at the time. I talked to him this morning, he said he bought it off ebay. I think most of them are pretty much universal unless one is design specifically for your car in term of location fitment. Shayne |
