Default LT5 Tool Set on Ebay

Found something pretty rare in the attic, a Kent Moore LT5 engine specialty tool set. Thought you might be interested. Michael Jordan's 40th ZR-1 seats coming tomorrow if time allows!

From what I can see, the cam dowel pins are missing, a contents label, and the crankshaft oil galley plug installer, all of which we don't use. Thanks guys! It looks like Kurt White has his name on this thing right off the bat!

Jim, Not much point in ebay hiding identities when you post up anyway.

Exclamation Re: LT5 Tool Set on Ebay

Believe it or Not, BELIEVE

Kurt White will confirm and thanks for all of his help and support. the Crankshaft Oil Plug Installing Tool might come in handy if your crankshaft oil plug ever fails as mine did while on a "Man's Last Stand" Trip to Livingston, Montana in early November last year.

Long story short form, GM's original replacement plug and procedure would not seal. I guess this design is only used on a couple of engines.
I'm not sure what everyone has been having these machine shops do when building up these LT5 engine crankshafts but this place was on top of it.

A call to a engine rebuilding shop in Butte, MT, Transmission Specialists uses, without even asking for a specific model guessed it as either on a Corvette or some GM truck engine, the shop called (Kurt) and asked him to mic out another new one he had on the shelf. They would know which one to use, they had already been using a much beefier tapered design when doing engine rebuilds.

So this could prove to be an important tool, I would not use GM's original part # tapered crankshaft oil plug. I'm not sure if Kurt would or not after being involved in this problem.
But again,
THANKS KURT
