Default What kind of power are the big LT-5 race motors making?

I'm on a couple forums where its 'LSx' all the time, and I understand that of course, but I wondered about what kind of power numbers the big inch LT-5's make n/a in race trim?

Thanks.

415 ci for street use: 595 rwhp, 500 rwtq. LSx can go to much bigger cubes, but sound like crap at WOT.

Thanks for the power #'s.

The sound at WOT LT-5 vs. LS was a big part of the debate.

I have not heard final numbers on the new bigger cube guy's.

427's and the 440's.

From what see and hear it's 490-590 rwhp 385-415's with cams.

I think in general there aren't too many "race trim" LT5's out there though. I think most people drive them, and just want even more power.

As far as race-only, it would probably be cars like the Pirate Racing one(s?), or Lane Goldstein's car, or potentially a few autocrossers/road-racers?

I *think* Lane's car made somewhere in the vicinity of 900hp naturally aspirated? The other big guns seem to be the twin-turbo cars made by the likes of Callaway and Lingenfelter, with 750-1000hp. I don't believe any of them are "race only" in terms of being gutted or anything, rather they are like a normal ZR-1, a great GT car just with a crapload more power.

Thanks for the info Bob.

You're right, 900 hp "the hard way".

The link has some good pics of Lane and the car on the links.
