Value of ZR-1 size Dymags?
I love the look of Dymags on C4's, and I have found a car that has a set of Dymags that look to be ZR-1 size from the pictures. These are the generation that uses the 88-89 big round center cap to cover the lug nuts.
what are these selling for these days? I may have to buy the whole car to get them, but I have a set of rims I can put on the car and sell it. I know this sounds crazy, but the car is cheap, and I think I can break even or make a little on it after I change out the Dymags, which gives me a set of Dymags for free. what are your thoughts? Thanks, Shawn |

Re: Value of ZR-1 size Dymags?
The Dymag you describe may be Gen 1, mostly found as 9.5 inch widths ($2000)
17x9.5 (56mm) & 17x11 (36mm) ...if they are in fact ZR-1 size & offsets then the price jumps up significantly, since those are unicorn rare due to being recalled soon after issue...some owners kept them, maybe less than 10 sets worldwide. I paid $4500 for my Dymag Gen 1 zr-1 specific set, with Vredestein Sessanta tires. My set came off a ZR-1 in Germany. Mine fit perfectly, without spacers, over oem brakes. They look and feel fantastic. I passed up an opportunity to buy a perfect original set of Gen ll 17x9.5, because I didn't want to buy the race project corvette they were on for $5500. Stupid mistake, I regret not swapping out the Dymags and selling the car. Confirm the Dymag's on that car, buy it cheap, sell it cheaper. Glad to help you if you need any photos, measurements.

Re: Value of ZR-1 size Dymags?
A good set of 17" Dymags will usually trade between $2-4K with many transactions settling in the 2500-3000 range. The 17x11 size is particularly uncommon. The most recent set for ZR-1 I've seen was offered on eBay about 6 weeks ago. It was a no-sale 3x at an asking price of $6,000.

Value of ZR-1 size Dymags?
I think 1400 for a nice set of gen 1. I have every generation including the 17x11 and gen 2s and 16s

Those are the 16" Corvette Challenge Series Dymag wheels. I have a set of those too.
Those were the lightest weight Dymag magnesium race wheels offered.

I don't know where the 16" Dymags were run, but 88/89 Challenge series ran Gen 1 17" wheels w/o holes for the cooling caps. Mark Sent from my iPhone using ZR-1 Net Registry

16"s were an early dymag option for Callaway

Re: Value of ZR-1 size Dymags?
I have both gens of 17s. The Gen 1s are on a Callaway and have been refinished. I'd be a buyer for another set at less than $2k but the timing wasn't good on the few sets I've seen, and/or the asking price was over $2k. They're very cool and a good get, go for it.
My Gen 2s are all 17x9.5 and need to be refinished. Probably I'll hang onto them even though they're not useful for the Z. They seldom turn up at any price and I doubt I'll ever afford another set. The 16s are very nice looking wheels but tire options are so limited they aren't something I need to own. They're very period cool on 87s. Lee, you have all the cool toys.
