ZR1 Owners Effected by Alberta Floods
I hope all the members and their families who live in the Southern Alberta area are safe and sound after this weekends flooding.
To those that don't know what I'm talking about, southern Alberta experienced the worst flooding ever in the history of the province. 100,000+ people required to evacuate, 20+ towns declared state of emergencies, most of downtown Calgary (pop: 1.1 million) completely flooded with depths up to 8-10 feet. Entire towns have been forever changed by the amount of water that came through. Trickling creeks turned into ranging rivers exceeding the width and depth of our largest area rivers. Red Cross and other charities are in full force to help those in need. Heard about this - a terrible event. I hope everyone comes through okay.

Trust that people are finally getting back to some degree of normalcy. The fact that the city is ready to host the Calgary Stampede is testimony to the power of the human spirit. Thoughts still with the people from High River - pictures are devastating.

It was horrible to watch and see on the news . Crazy thing is here in Toronto downtown was really flooded . I am in the east side of the city and we were spared the flooding . I was driving north on the 404 and I was in the midst of the rain that downtown TO was getting . I never saw darker clouds before like that . Lots of lightning too .
Weird weather all around for the last 4 years or so . |
