Default Inside Rear Tail Lights Red and Orange

We were checking lights on the Z this weekend got everything working but noticed an oddity. The two inside lights are split top half is Red bottom half is orange. Looked at the coffee table book the Zs in the book are all red. I don't believe they were change. Can anyone tell me if this was an option if so what is the code on the build sheet. Thank you please let me know what's up.

Ok will that pass judging because I believe the car came that way and would the euro lights show on the build sheet?

Those are aftermarket. I don't see that an NCRS judge would let those fly.

Tom,

I'll have to check my judging sheets to see what line/point value the tail lights may be. You would get hit with a full deduct on originallty for the taillights since they are aftermarket. The big question is what they are combined with on the line.

It might get overlooked at a Chapter level event due to less experienced judges, but will likely be caught at a regional or higher event.

I'll check the line and post up later.

I suggest you look for some OEM lenses to replace them.

John thank you for the information. Do you have a set of lights or know where I can get a set that will pass judging.

Tom,

I don't have a spare set, sorry. You might post up in the Wanted/For sale section on both sites. Remember the 1990 ZR1 tail lights are different from the base 1990. The 1990 ZR1 lights should have "DOT A (2) 1(2) S(2) T88" Guide 1Y or "DOT A (2) 1(2) S(2) T88 Guide 1Y".

As far as judging points the Exterior section #15 gives 16 originality and 16 condition points to the Tail Lights, Back-up Lights and the high mount center brake light. I would think that since there are 7 items identified on that line and assuming your back-up and high level brake light are correct you would lose 4/7 of the 16 points on originality. Or about 9 or 10 points. Your condition points should be based on the condition of all of the lights.

Hope this helps, John
