Default radio on no sound

In my 90 ZR1 the Bose radio turns on and receives channels. When I turn the volume all the way up have minor sound out of one rear speaker. Otherwise no sound from other speakers. Thoughts on solving the problem?

We have all gone through it at one time or the other.

Consider sending the entire speaker enclosures off to Bose.

I am having a similar problem if it comes to having to pull the box is does anyone have advice on how or a set of directions. Also is it better to fix the original bose or to change to a newer system i so which one the only reason i asked is because repair of old system, from what i have read and checked, will be very expensive
thanks

Im doing this right now.I can honestly say this is the biggest BULL$HIT job Ive ever done.Had it repaired, now I need to put it back in the car.I would rather have a root canal than fight with this thing.

Same happend for me years ago.. Service told me that radio reciver box was broken. Fix would have cost so much that I got whole stereo system changed to new, course I also had those common problems with cd etc.
