Default Are Hatch lifts the same part or Lft/Rt.?

I’m ordering new hatch lift support tubes, and they indicate in the catalog “Left”, there is no “Right” indicated.
Is there a difference in mounting? Or are they interchangeable?

Coincidence that I ordered a set last night. My research showed a left and right due to defroster connector. In the C4 community folks recommended this company and lift support brand that supposedly made the OEM stuff. I saw negative comments about Strong Arm.

You’re welcome Tony! I think you’ll be very happy with these. I think we get what we pay for and these are nice quality and like OEM.

Good to hear! I’d rather pay a little extra and get the right parts. I’ll let you know how the install goes.

Thank you,

Tony

Aloha- thanks for the response. The problem is Rockauto is offering the Strongarm strut @ $6.47 ea. , 2 needed of course. But the list says it’s the “left” strut. No listing for the “right”.
No way to call them to get explanation.
Great deal for one half of what I need.

Aloha Bob! That is too funny. I also received the email closeout and was going to buy the same. I’m sure it can be modified to work and almost ordered two left for that price. I did not bother actually looking at my car to see. Best wishes with whatever you decide.

I am not a fan of Strongarm's struts. I had installed a pair in another vehicle 6 years ago. It's a '99 RX300 which my daughter drives. The other week, she heard a loud pop coming from the rear. The left strut's plastic pivot end knuckle had broken, and the strut extended and punched into the taillight housing. When looking for a replacement, I found a couple of other folks who had the same problem. I went with another brand which cost a little more, yet had more reliability.

For what it's worth, I put on a set of these with no issues off Amazon
