Hot Rod Power Tour, Vettes on the River

Just signed up for the 2020 Hot Rod Power Tour.

The Power Tour starts with a kickoff in June 7th in Norwalk OH, Dayton OH June 8th, Indianapolis IN June 9 th, St. Louis MO June 10th, Champaign IL June 11th, Davenport IA June 12th, ending in Madison WI June 13th.

I am planning on doing the Champaign and Davenport legs of the trip June 11 and 12.

Also this as year's Vettes on the River in Le Claire, IA is on August 29th.

I was wondering if any Registry Members would be interested in attending either of these events?

Hey Mike, For sure i would like to make the Vettes on the river in August hope to the FBI gang to go it would be a cool caravan out to the location. Thanks for posting this info.

Another great summer road trip for the Chicago area folks would be taking old Route 66 from Gardner Illinois to Pontiac Illinois.

Pontiac is a great town for car enthusiasts with car culture museums, a nostalgic downtown area with some good restaurants.

Always wanted to do a bit of Rt. 66. When is that Mike?

When ever we can plan it. It's just a route I have plotted out. Chicago area people can take I-55 to Gardner Illinois, then it's about an hour on Route 66. Mostly rural area to Pontiac.

With the pandemic the Hot Rod Power Tour has been rescheduled with a new final destination of Route 66 Raceway in Joliet.

The changes are below:

KICKOFF on Sunday, Aug. 23: Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio (New Date)

Monday, Aug. 24: National Trail Raceway, Hebron, Ohio (New Date / New Venue)

Tuesday, Aug. 25: Indiana State Fairgrounds, Indianapolis (New Date / New Venue)

Wednesday, Aug. 26: World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway, Madison, Ill. (New Date)

Thursday, Aug. 27: University of Illinois - State Farm Center, Champaign, Ill. (New Date)

Friday, Aug. 28: Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, Davenport, Iowa (New Date)

FINALE on Saturday, Aug. 29: Chicagoland Speedway, Joliet, Ill. (New Date / New Venue)

For me I am planning on joining the Power Tour in Champaign, Illinois on August 27, on to Davenport, Iowa August 28th, and the what works well for me is that Davenport is just minutes away from LeClaire, Iowa where Vettes on the River will take place on August 29th.

If anyone is interested in the Hot Rod Power tour or VOTR please let me know.

I am planning on going. VOTR Website should open soon to register.

I recommend you register early when it opens.

With the Power Tour schedule change (Davenport, IA) I will already be in the Leclaire, IA area that day.

My son lives in the LeClaire area so I will be staying and attending with him.

You can hang or stay with us and detail your car there after the long road trip. Stay in touch as the event approaches.
