crazy oil temp reading after sensor change
Hi-
my 1990 was leaking oil, I couldn't tell for sure whether it was the oil pressure switch or the oil temp sender, so I changed them both. (they were both a total pain, but OMG the pressure switch) Anyway, It's no longer leaking, but now the dash reads oil temp off the charts high. (Normal coolant temp, goes there immediately, runs fine) I don't think the oil is actually hot. Did I use the wrong sensor(Sender?)? Is there anything I need to reset after the change? Having now made a tool to get to it, I feel like I could change it again pretty easily. Any guidance is most appreciated! Curt |

Re: crazy oil temp reading after sensor change
Additional info:
as soon as I put the key in, the oil temp gauge goes straight to off the charts hot, I unplugged it and plugged in the old sensor(not installed) and it doesn't do that. I think that points to a bad/wrong sensor. Does anyone have a link to the correct part? thanks again! |
