1995 #297
Picked this up last Monday. I've had a 1987 Z51 for 2 years now and always dreamed of a C4 ZR-1. Haven't had much of a chance to drive as the weather hasn't been cooperating. I am getting up with the former owner on Saturday. From what I can tell it's got Corsa, Screamin Demon coils, Live Wire ignition wires, 335's on the back, and a switch to turn off the 1-4. Both roof panels, torch red with light beige interior. 55,xxx miles and in very great shape!

Re: 1995 #297
Thanks everyone! Happy to be part of the brotherhood!
Finally had a couple of good weather days which I jumped on to drive her, and now rain again today, have to love coastal NC in the winter. Our club participated in a Christmas parade yesterday, had close to 20 'vettes out there. Mostly C6's, some C5's, one C1 and C3, and of course one C4. The coolest thing I heard from those watching went something like "Look that's a ZR-1, that was the baddest car ever in the 90's!". Before the parade I was able to get up with the former owner, didn't have a long time to talk but he gave me a copy of the window sticker, the build sheet from the fuel tank area, a dyno sheet, and a stack of King of the Hill's and The Heart of the Beast. The more reading I've done on here, through the FSM, and the owner's manual as well as poking around on this car, the more comfortable I'm getting with her. Just from general observations catastrophic engine failures seem almost non-existent unless something really bad was done. Seems like most issues result in a manifold pull which keeps looking easier everyday. Currently my plan is to keep everything as is with just a wheel refinishing as the salty air has caused a little corrosion and the wheel paint isn't perfect. I'm sure in the future will be a set of headers to go with the Corsa's and then maybe if something happens to where I do have to remove the plenum then I'll look at secondary removal and some porting! Anything in particular I need to be careful with and avoid so I don't cause any real problems (hurting the engine, the clutch, etc.)? How about normal driving shift RPM's? Steady driving RPM's? I did read on Marc Haibeck's site about always leaving the power key on to prevent carbon build up from not using the secondaries, so I'm making sure to do that! |

Yep, those are ZFDoc's c-beam plates. Nice catch on the Dunn head 95. Very nice Zee.
I spent the last several months of my 4 years active enlistment @ J-ville, 69/70. Semper Fi

Thanks Jerry and thanks for your service! I'll actually be retiring from the Corps this summer after 21 years and 6 years of it spent here in J-ville. I see you are in Edmond, went to MEPS in OK City and signed my enlistment papers in the Murrah Federal Building.
