Ebay part test # 1 ECM/CCM Holder

I purchased a NOS ECM/CCM holder on Ebay under auction number #330331173125. I am always leary about buying on Ebay but I want to share with my brothers when I find a great deal. The item is 100% correct and fits like a gem. I decided to replace mine as the plastic was broken in three areas. (next to the retention screws and the angle back bracket where it mounts to the hood pin insert bracket. The seller is slick300zx and he has three more of these left at the $39.99 price point.

I have no idea if this is a "good" deal but I have seen these at the $100 price point from time to time. The install is easy as the holder slides onto a pin on the underside of the holder. You will need to unplug a vaccum line running to a sensor underneath and unplug the sensor. When the old unit is out you will need to transfer the sensor to the new bracket a 15 min install.

The back of the holder mates to a rubber grommet that rides in the enlongated hole that attached to the inside of the hood pin retention bracket. Just wanted to share incase other members had the same issue. Heres a pic of my old brackets problems and the new bracket in position. It also appears I have a long weekend ahead of me for dust and grease eradication lol. Hope this post helps someone considering the purchase and project Goldcylon


First Pic shows the underside of my old ecm/ccm bracket holder. The slider can be seen in the middle. The two screw holes to the left is where the sensor on the underside is postioned




Second pic shows the broken grommet retention hole that mates to the front side of the driver side hood pin channel. As you can see a large portion of my plastic was missing.





Third pic shows what most members see.. the plastic broken from the overtightening of the plastic which is brittle at the threaded postions where the retention nuts fasten. These are snapped off in a variety of ways.





Pic Four shows how the enlongated postion mates to the front side of the driver side hood pin retention bracket. You need to fish a portion of the gromment into the enlongated hole on the ECM bracket.

I believe thats correct Jeff but somehow he has a cache of NOS ECM/CCM holders so Im just passing the deal along. I even think I have purchased from him before but I cant remember chit anymore.

oh yeah not discounting the deal you found, but the ECM tray you have pictured is the same one used for L98s in 90-91 and LT1s in 92-93

just an FYI..

the harder piece to find is the ECM tray bracket that mounts on the firewall between the wall and Booster

Arts Corvette Parts has these OEM new for $20.00.Why do these things always turn white,is it the battery fumes that does this?

I spray painted it with Duplicolor satin black bumper paint to make it look fresh.
