Default How many spare LT-5's were built?

I am just starting to look for one to put into an older Chevy and am curious about how many extras were built.

How many ZR1's are left on the roads? I remember seeing a list of known totals.

I see N.O.S. crate motors a few times a year in the $12,000-$14,000 range.

How many had their engines replaced in 1990 when all the Chevy mechanics could do was remove the engine and sent it back for a replacement?

There's at least 50 known totaled ZR1's over on the registry front page:

If there was a total of 6939 and we know of 50 totals = 6889 that maybe left on the road. Does anyone know how many cars that have be registered on the registry over the years? with that info we may have a closer WAG..
