Re: Callaway ZR-1
Callaway Le Mans body kit. Had the regular aerobody kit, and then the nose was a custom one piece CF unit. They didn't sell very many of them. There are 4 or 5 running around.

Re: Callaway ZR-1
I'm not real crazy about the front end, but I really like the way the sides are more straight looking and not wrapped in under the body. Wish GM had done something like this to set the KOTH apart.

Re: Callaway ZR-1
The wing is just to much for my taste!
I am sure it works fine but just too 'Boy Racer' IMO. Less the wing the lines almost look like a JAG E-Type with that LM Hood! That I do like! To me IowaZR-1 That is the best part - no pop ups and nice air flow! A Euro look 4 sure -- Does take away from the traditional Vette nose but a preview of the C6 to come.

Re: Callaway ZR-1
I really dislike Callaway's LM hood. I think it looks bizarre and bug-eyed, and I don't like how the fenderwell is always closed. However, I can absolutely appreciate the work that went into it. They don't do anything half-way, and that is one amazing bit of custom work.

Re: Callaway ZR-1
JMHO....it looks sweet, but the wing for the street is a bit over the top for my taste..... I would miss the C4 clam shell with the straighter lines. No doubt a very unusual look for the car and the craftsmanship is obvious.
I wonder if GM made them look like that, maybe optional on the wing, if the Z would have sold better?

Re: Callaway ZR-1
I think the Bug Eye does detract from the classic vette look and think the same for the C6 because of this and the large air flow opening.
When a C6 is behind me I can't tell it is a vette anymore because of these things. Now if I wanted a LeMans racer I would want aero-lamps and better cooling and even a functional down force wing (since it really works) so for these reasons and a lower ride overall to keep the air from under the vette it would all make total sense to have the LM design. But being a lover of the classic lines of the C2 to C4 and not liking the butt of a C5 ( the nose is fine ) the C6 was a departing of the vette as a bottom feeder as we know and the dilemma of poor areo-dynamics of the pop up lamps so---------------- Having said all of this The LM is a preview of the C6 that has come to be and for the reasons provided sans the tail wing. But forever the sleek hideaway lamps and smooth looking "classic front ends" of the C2-C5 have been lost and now the new vette looks like most others in the review mirror. Such is progress I guess.
