Hans; German Engineering at its best!
Well, for months I have had 390+rwhp, great looking 21K mile car, with the exception of some pretty crooked *** exhaust tips.
A year ago I had an X-Pipe put on, during the reinstall they could not get the pipes on straight(they have always been somewhat crooked). I was in a hurry and had to leave with some seriously messed up tips. On three seperate ocassions I have spent about 2-3hrs pushing pulling, etc on the tips. A few weeks ago Hans(CCMANO) mentioned that the rubber hangers might be switched.....sure as **** once I reversed them the muffler position improved about 100%, so if you are struggling with setting up the tips and they seem to keep tipping up every time you tighten them, flip the exhaust hangers around...problemo solved! Thanks Hans! |

Re: Hans; German Engineering at its best!
I sorta had that problem with the B&B's....not so much crooked as they were too close to the cut outs in the bumper. I wound up removing the the L brackets and elongating the holes. Now the tips sit about a 1/2" lower where they should.

Re: Hans; German Engineering at its best!
I also was pissed off about the crooked tips (Borla)
and took it to a muffler shop. They heated pretty hot the connection of the tips to the muffler and used a pipe wrench to "adjust" the angles. It helped, but was Mickey Mouse IMHO and caught the plastic wheel well mud flap on fire. I have a new liner but I'm too lazy to replace it. PS At a car show a Borla rep told me my car must have "shifted" on original transport. |
