Carlisle...a few pics>>>
First time to Carlisle for me...pretty amazing! Here are a few pics from the gathering of the Zs
The food and shade tents... Dave did a great job is getting loads of food...hell we were inviting other clubs to come over and join in our food fest A few of us took rotations in being the grill master... in my case I was lowly assistant only being allowed to touch the sacred burger flipper for this pic ;-) A group of ZR-1 owners from Spain flew over for the event...they do like hamburgers! Oh... yes there were a "few" Vettes there...never seen that many in one place>>> After three days there I was pooped...had a good time but was time to head home Michael

What a blast... By far that was the best Carlisle or any Corvette event I have ever been to! Great group of guys and awesome corvettes! Special thanks to Michael, Jim, Phil, Dave and all the Z owners that came (no matter if they are "members" or not). This was one great weekend Without great support from OUR community (especially with our last min TENT move), this event would have been a huge disaster. SPECIAL THANKS TO OUR Z MEMBERS FROM SPAIN!!!!!!! What a great group of guys. I hope everyone had a chance to say hi to our Class friends from Spain. Cheers David |

Re: Carlisle...a few pics>>>
I agree with Michael and David, Corvettes at Carlisle was a great success this year. Thanks Michael for posting the pictures, especially getting my car front and center.
The weather was great. There was a good crowd. There was lots to do and see. I was so busy that I didn't even get over to the tent to get my "goody bag" until Saturday afternoon. Thanks to David and everyone who helped with the food and drinks. We made a good impression on all the "visitors" that we invited to join us for a burger and to talk about the ZR-1. I know that we signed up a lot of new members. Hopefully Bill will give us a total. It was neat to see so many of the MD/NoVA ZR-1 group at the show. I know that Scott, Keith, Don, Bob, David, Michael, Kirk, Ron, Phil, Mike, Paul and Bill were there. I may have miss some others as I was walking around the show. There were two ZR-1's from Canada. Thanks for coming down! I know of four ZR-1's that won Celebrity Choice Awards there may have been more. Well Done!! We have arranged with the Corvettes at Carlisle management to get more space to park ZR-1's next year so that we won't have to be so crowded. Every time I saw the ZR-1 owners from Spain, they were loaded down with shopping bags. I am sure that they boosted the economy of Central PA during their visit. Re: Carlisle...a few pics>>>
Dave thanks for organizing a great ZR-1 gathering at Carlisle this year and a special thanks to Dave, Jim and Michael for their hospitality. The food was great and having a chance to find some shade and grab a drink was a real benefit. There were an impressive number of Vettes (as usual) but the best part of the show for me has always been having the chance to check out all the ZR-1s. Of all the Vettes, there are two that just seem to draw my attention towards them, a ZR-1 with its hood up and the lines of the C6 Z06. I’ll try to get the pictures my wife and I took posted shortly.
Thanks again. |
