Default A/C Compressor Clutch

Has anyone replaced one?

Do I have to remove the plenum? Does the compressor have to be removed?

Car is a 91.

Thanks

Not speaking from experience but after looking in my 90 model GM service manual i do`nt think you`ll have to remove the plenum. It says to remove air intake duct, drain cooling system and remove coolant outlet hose/pipe assembly. The next step is removing the compressor shaft bolt, pressure plate and shim. The compressor shaft bolt torques 10 lbs. ft. Clearance between the pressure plate and rotor should be .015 with a tolerance of .006 inch. Add or reduce the number of shims to obtain the standard clearance. The tool number for holding the pressure plate while removing is J 33027-A. Hope this helps. Again this info is from a 90 model manual.

Thanks for the info Richard. Looks like it will be easy enough for me to do myself.
